Renters Left Crap Behind, What Do I do?

Hi Revenge Guy,
My former renters were making big deals of minor issues and would not talk to me personally. They use text like its the most convenient way to communicate. I had to spend hours explaining things that I could have done in 5-10 minutes by talking about it. I decided not to renew their lease as they have also broken several appliances in the house.

Anyway, as I was cleaning their room, I found panties and pair of shoes.

Is it legal to send the panty to their work place (with a note and their names on it 🙂 since I do not have their new address? I live in California.

Thanks.

Hi L,
By all means, send the panties and shoes to their last known address you have.

In as clear a box you can find.

Be sure to include instructions about how to reimburse you for sending them their personal items and the broken appliances.

Bad Blood at Work

Hi Revenge Guy,
I work at a coffee shop twice a week as an extra job. I really enjoy it. But my boss who is gay hired his buddy who is straight and is in love with but has a girlfriend. Then he hired the girlfriend. I found out he is telling the boss things I say but twisting the words to make me look bad so his girlfriend can get my shifts. They also told him I slack off when the boss isn’t there.

Now the boss is mad at me and changed my shifts because of it. I want this guy gone and his girlfriend too. He has created all sorts of drama since he started working there. What can I do?

Hi C,
You’re living someone else’s fantasy for the perfect workplace and being forced out because of it.

Even if your revenge was successful in getting the boyfriend/girlfriend couple fired I fear that things wouldn’t get better.

That being said you need to get yourself a “spy camera” and record them how they interact with you when the boss isn’t there.

At the very least you’d have something to back up your complaints and at the most you’d have a workplace harassment case.

Good luck and start that job search!

Recycling Pick-up Goes Wrong. Help!

Hi Revenge Guy,
Your website is entertaining as all Hell. Kudos to you, sir.

My recycle truck driver is a jerk. Since I moved into my home, three short years ago, I’ve had to replace the big blue bin twice because this jerk either throws it to the curb by hand (for some reason he comes the other way on my short rural street sometimes and has to get out and wheel it to the other side of the truck) or slams it down with the truck’s can lift.

The third time he broke it I replaced the wheels myself, then woke up at 5:30 to watch him. Sure enough, he pushed it from 5 feet out, and it went skidding on its side. I went and got on my bike, and went to a nearby street, and waited for him. I rode up and asked him if he had a problem with me – he clearly didn’t know who I was. I told him to please stop slamming my bin, yes, they replace it for free, but I have to be home to sign for it in the middle of the day. I work, too. Not always from home.

Next week, the bin wasn’t emptied. There was a note taped to the top, they couldn’t collect because there were food items inside the bin. There was a cat food bag that had roughly a handful of food left in it. And I had put that in the garbage last thing. So I know he pulled it out, and put it in his bin, then left the note. So reading more about recycling, no longer will I toss bottles and cans inside. I pay a deposit for those, why should I pay somebody to get that deposit back? I’m only putting cardboard in the bin. They have a weight limit of 80 lbs, so I’m trying to fill it right to 79 lbs before I put it out on the curb, but I want to expose his jerkiness as well. Thanks a lot for any ideas.

Hi C,
Don’t you just hate small people with a little bit of power?

This asshole just wants to ruin other people’s days because he has the power to “do or not do” his job. Some people may defend him by saying he’s just doing what he’s supposed to do, it’ good for the environment, yada yada, but the truth is he’s a miserable worm that wants to take out his hatred for his pitiful excuse for a life by creating small amounts of havoc on other people the only way he can, by refusing service.

Unfortunately I am sure he’s well prepared to just keep doing whatever it is he wants, or doesn’t want, to do in the name of his job so filling the bin to the maximum, although a great idea, will just give him a reason to not do his job again.

Maybe having a drone record him and reporting him to the city department of waste management is the way to go here. I’m sure his union won’t let him get fired but with enough complaints he may just become some other neighborhood’s problem.

So, talk to your neighbors, amass your complaints, get some video and start complaining with the real evidence you need to move this piece of work to another route.

Neighbors Parking in Front of Our House Troubles

Dear RG,
We own a house in the city and all the neighbors park their cars from across the street in front of ours and even leave them there for a week. Police do nothing. There is no reason for this. And when we complain, we look bad. We live in a house and can’t even park in front of it. And we can’t park in front of theirs because they have their other cars parked there. Our house is the first place everyone comes to…. I swear u would think the spots in front of my house is gold. It’s like this all the time.

How do u get rid of inconsiderate & ignorant neighbors? I’m trying to get my husband to sell the house. It’s ridiculous. Any ideas??

Hi J,
It’s next to impossible to get people to stop parking on the street, especially if the police will do nothing about it. Of course, the police don’t issue parking tickets, the city does.

The first thing you need to do is check with the bylaw office and see what the street parking rules are for your street. There may be some enforcement rules you can use to your advantage.

Of course, then everyone on the street will hate you and could escalate things, but your own peace of mind comes first, am I right or am I right?

The next thing I’d do is get some old furniture and park it right on the curb, let it sit there. Block anyone getting out on that side of the car. Frustrate the hell out of them. Old sofas and mattresses are easy to find that don’t cost a lot.

Put up yard signs on the curb that say “Poison: Pesticide spray, do not walk here” in bright colors. Give people something to think about.

Water the area all the time. Keep it wet and gross.

Of course, moving will solve this issue but you may be in for worse things later. Stalk your new neighborhood, interview the neighbors, make sure your next place is as friendly as it can be.
